8-week sessions are offered at different schools in Charlotte
Elementary School Yoga and Mindfulness before school/after school Club :
In this fun- filled club, children will be introduced to Yoga poses and different kinds of Mindfulness Meditation through games and activities. Each session will be 8 weeks long, and each session will center around a theme. The themes include- Manage your Emotions with Mindfulness, Kindness, Peace is Always Within you, Love, Respect, learning how to Focus, Animal Yoga, Improve your Posture with Yoga, Use Your Breath to Calm Your Mind, Learn to Slow Down an Listen to your Body, The Eight Rules of Yoga, Chakras. and much more!

Middle School Yoga and Mindfulness before school/after school Club :
We will learn poses, breathwork and mindfulness meditation. We will explore dynamic poses and deep stretches. In different sessions there will be an emphasis on different topics, like improving focus, body awareness, developing flexibility and strength, stress management, emotion regulation and calming the mind using the skills of yoga and mindfulness. In different sessions, we will have different group discussions on the history of yoga, why yoga helps, the eight limbs of yoga, chakras and their significance in yoga, the science of how stress affects the body and why yoga and breathwork help soothe the nervous system.  The group discussions are based on the premise that when children understand why they are doing what they are doing, and how it will help them , they are more interested in doing it. There will be an optional journaling opportunity where children will  journal about their own challenges and how they  they can apply the skills they have learned in their own life. With each class we will progress with meditation by increasing the time we sit for meditation, if the child is ready for it. We will explore different Mindfulness skills like mindfulness of the breath, body, the 5 senses, Mindful communication, Mindful eating and much more!

Wear loose and comfortable clothing. Do not eat anything one hour prior to the start.
Children will need a  mat or a towel (there are mats available for use if you don’t have one)
