INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY EVENT
Celebrate International yoga day with a traditional slow paced, Hatha Yoga practice
Relax the body and calm the mind with gentle poses, breathwork, candle meditation (Tratak, a yogic cleansing technique which brings tranquility to the mind, and improves memory, concentration and vision), and end with a guided meditation. This traditional Hatha yoga class is based on the teachings of Swami Kuvalyananda. The Kaivalyadhama style of yoga follows the Ashtanga yoga of Patanjali and adheres to the Patanjalis sutras, therefore poses are done slowly and mindfully, with rest between the poses. This relieves tight muscles and induces a relaxation response that brings the body back in balance, which helps with stress reduction. This also creates an environment where physical and emotional healing can occur.
