Yoga Level 1/Mixed Level |
This class will stretch, relax and rejuvenate your body. This slow paced class is perfect for beginners and for people with limitations. This Hatha yoga class combines deep stretches as well as a slow flow. Poses are done slowly and mindfully, with rest between the poses. This relieves tight muscles and induces a relaxation response that brings the body back in balance, which helps with stress reduction. This also creates an environment where physical and emotional healing can occur. This class is suitable for all levels and is perfect for beginners. Modifications are offered if needed, as you work at your own pace. Classes will also include breathing exercises and meditation. The breath work in this class will enhance the relaxation in the body and calm the mind. A slow paced yoga practice is beneficial to all practitioners, even the advanced ones, since it slows down the mind, an effective skill and a perfect antidote to balance our fast paced and stressful lives. |
Yoga Level 2 |
Energize your body with this fast-paced class. Build strength and endurance, improve your balance and flexibility as we flow from one pose to another in this Hatha yoga class. This class will challenge you, no matter what your level and ability is, as we move through poses both dynamic as well as long-holds. Classes will also incorporate breathing exercises and meditation to calm the mind. This class is open to all levels and ability, however it is highly recommended that students have prior knowledge of yoga. |
Mindful Yoga |
Hatha Yoga poses are done very slowly with mindful attention to moment by moment changing sensations in the body, thoughts in the mind as well as feelings. There is frequent rest between the poses to allow the body to experience a deep sensation of relaxation in the body. Yoga when done in this manner offers profound relaxation in the body and mind. |
Yoga and Mindfulness for Kids |
In this class, which is appropriate for children ages 6-12, yoga is taught in a fun environment, through play and activities. Children will learn poses, age appropriate breathing exercises and meditation. Yoga teaches children to relax, calms the mind and strengthens the body. The benefits of early introduction of kids to yoga and mindfulness include increased body awareness, emotion regulation, improved posture, increased confidence, stress management as well as improved focus and concentration. Children learn best through play, that is why we incorporate games and activities to make this a fun introduction to yoga. |
Mindfulness Workshop for beginners |
Learn how to establish a regular practice and incorporate mindfulness skills in your day to day life with this beginner mindfulness workshop. We will learn what exactly mindfulness is( and what it is not), strategies to calm the mind prior to our meditation practice, explore ways to establish a daily practice, and learn mindfulness skills that can be used in our day to day lives. A formal mindfulness does not mean sitting still with our eyes closed, if that is not the best option for you. We will learn how to tailor your personal practice to meet your needs. We will explore mindful walking, mindful conversations, and mindful eating. We will understand how to manage stress and anxiety with mindfulness. We will learn strategies on addressing difficult emotions and repetitive thoughts when they arise in the practice. Offered Online and in-person, recordings will be provided for missed sessions, and will be available for a month |
Mindful Moms Workshop |
Being a mom is not easy! Learn mindfulness strategies that will help you navigate the emotional ups and downs that come with motherhood. Emotions like stress, worry, guilt, anxiety and fear can bog you down and keep you from living to your fullest potential. Giving your children the time they deserve while managing your own busy schedule can leave you worn out, or unable to enjoy motherhood. So how do you find balance? Mindfulness teaches us to turn inwards, to tend to your self with compassion and understanding so that you are better able to tend to your child's needs. This skill needs practice, and a support group which is exactly what this workshop offers. We will learn to develop a short(or long if you have the time) daily practice, learn the skill of mindful communication, ways to center and ground yourself, understand your own feelings/needs and healthy ways to express them. We will do journaling exercises, have discussions and much more! Offered online, recordings will be provided for missed sessions, and will be available for a month. |
